Day 20: Prague - Dresden - Copenhagen

Hey everyone!

Today was sadly our last day together. We left Prague in the morning and made a lunch stop in beautiful Dresden - a city that was almost completely destroyed in World War Two. Fortunately they have done an amazing job reconstructing it, which we saw on our little tour..

After lunch we started the long trip to Copenhagen. We had a wonderful last dinner together on the ferry from Germany to Denmark. It was bittersweet - but thankfully we all know it is never goodbye, but  always "Till next time!"

Day 19: Prague

Hey people!

We had an amazing day exploring beautiful Prague. We started the city tour in the morning and explored the old castle. It is on top of a hill so we walked through the gardens where there was the most fantastic view if the city.

On the way down from the castle we passed the Lennon wall and the students had the chance to write their own message on the wall.

After lunch we continued the tour and went to the old part of the city and also the jewish quarter - we learned a lot about the history of the Czech Republic and its people.

We spent the evening hanging out and relaxing with music and games. There were also quite a few people that watched the game between France and Germany ;-)

Who needs France or Germany? Go Australia!

Day 18: Vienna - Bratislava - Prague

Hi everyone!

Today was a travel day and also a day to explore a bit.

We left Vienna in the morning and headed to the capital of Slovakia - Bratislava. It was a short drive and around noon we went on a lovely city tour and learned more about the history and culture of Bratislava.

Then it was time for lunch and many chose to get a real taste of the culture by eating some typical Slovakian food.

Afterwards we started our drive to Prague where we arrived around dinner time. It was a perfect summer night so we all went to down town Prague to see the beautiful old city all lit up in the dark. It was so beautiful!

Day 17: Vienna

Hey everybody!

On this sunny day we got to explore Vienna - we started out at the Belvedere Castle and gardens, and then we headed to the beautiful Hofburg Palace. We also stopped by the greek-inspired parliament building.
Later on we had lunch in the Stephansplatz and then we were off to see the house of Mozart. After seeing the house in which he composed many of his great pieces, we boarded our horse-carriages called the Fiakers. We were in for a ride around the city!
After dinner some people took the opportunity to experience a real classical concert in an old mansion in the heart of Vienna. It was an amazing concert that also included ballet, aries and a bit of drama.

Day 16: Budapest - Vienna

Hello people!

We had a short travel day to Vienna today. Arrival was around lunch time. We went to supermarket and got lots of delicious food for a picnic in the gardens of Schönnbrunn. Apart from a few spiders it was a lovely lunch - it was sunny and warm :-)

Afterwards we walked through the gardens to the beautiful Schönnbrunn Castle that used to be a summer home for several royal families throughout time. We had a tour inside where we got to see 40 of the 1000 rooms. The rooms and the furniture were well-preserved, so one could almost imagine what it would be like to live there.

We had dinner at a typical Austrian restaurant - the plates of food were huge and the food was so good!
The best part was the enormous shared dessert plate!

The day started with a city tour. We stopped by the Hungarian parliament which is the 3rd largest parliament building in the world. Not only was it amazing from the outside but the inside was incredible as well.

Next stop was the citadel with a fantastic view of the city! Then it was time for lunch in down town Budapest.

Afterwards we climbed our way to the top of the castle in Budapest and then to finish off we went to the Thermal baths to have a swim in one of the many pools or go to the sauna.

After being in the warm pools or saunas for a couple of hours we went to a traditional Hungarian restaurant with dancing and music. The food was great and so was the entertainment!
